OUR STORY
2016 - 2017
After a month of texting, Mark finally asked Hope on a date - the same week she started a 3-year MBA program (not sure Mark knew what he was signing up for).
The Subway made Hope late (or so she claims)...a few dates and a Cubs World Series Championship later...
...with a few bumps along the way (like Pitt football delaying their first Stern Gala & Pitt basketball somehow beating Marquette during their first trip to The Garden)...
they were inseparable.
THE BEER PONG TOURNAMENT
THAT STARTED IT ALL

After many treks between the Upper East Side and the East
Village--and then practically daily through Washington Square Park once Hope moved to Greenwich Village--it was time to say goodbye to Mark's Apartment 7 with the guys.

Hope and Mark often have Friday date nights, but Hope knew something was up when Mark insisted not only they do a date night, but they go out instead of cooking in together...
specifically to Rosemary's (the location of their first dinner date).
Much to Hope's disappointment, it really didn't seem like the proposal was happening - until Mark suggested walking through Washington Square Park to "digest dinner" and stopping for gelato afterwards on the way home.

Just as they did that first dinner date, Hope and Mark strolled through the park, but this time--instead of stopping to look at the tree, Mark stopped to get down on one knee. And, so perfectly, the same street performer Mark heard on one of his daily walks to Hope's apartment - the day he sat down and realized she could be his forever - was performing that evening.

It was the most perfect evening. Right up through immediate post-engagement gelato and having to rush to tell our families because our engagement was caught on Insta by @michaelapodo who blew up our spot in true millennial engagement fashion.

QUARANTINED

Ready to be husband and wife, we still made it official in an intimate church ceremony with our immediate family on our original wedding date.

It was nothing like we envisioned, but it was perfect nonetheless. We celebrated in our apartment and Hope even baked her first two-tiered cake from scratch for the day!

We could not be more excited to exchange our vows, finally pull out Hope's dream wedding gown, and celebrate with everyone as initially planned on October 9, 2021.
Mark crashed the party and Hope decided to spend the night talking to the cute boy that made fun of her when they met a few weeks earlier during a new business pitch meeting.

"I LOVE YOU"

Over the past few years, Mark and Hope rioted in the streets of Philly together after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, survived a blizzard on the way to London, hiked miles of hills in Lisbon & danced the night away at many weddings in between.

A little over a year after moving in together, Hope graduated from her MBA program.
Mark was ready to pop the question.

"WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

As we all know, 2020 wasn't what anyone was expecting. First quarantined together in a 500 square-foot glorified studio in Manhattan together for almost 2 months, Hope and Mark made the big move across the Hudson to Jersey City.

When it was clear that the wedding we had planned would not be able to move forward as-is, we made the difficult decision to postpone our vows and celebration to 2021.
